Human performance technology is a set of evidence-based methods, and a strategy for solving problems, for realizing opportunities related to the workplace performance of people. This presentation, by the editors of the newly released three-volume Handbook of Improving Performance in the Workplace, takes participants through the New Landscape of Performance Improvement and, in a relaxed interview format, shows how to HPT to identify appropriate solution systems; define performance problems and opportunities through Performance Analysis and select various interventions; explain new theory, research, and practice of Instructional Design as it really is used today; and explain the role of measurement and evaluation in the current and future workplace, including organizational readiness, design and implementation of measurement and evaluation initiatives, and the challenge of using new technologies.
